This safety-focused training course provides essential instruction for individuals who operate or work near forklifts in construction sites, warehouses, and similar environments. Operating a forklift presents a unique set of hazards, and proper training is critical to ensuring a safe workplace.
Participants will learn to recognize and mitigate risks associated with forklift operation, including vehicle inspections, safe handling procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for forklift safety training and includes instruction on:
Forklift operation principles and safety protocols
Inspection and maintenance of powered industrial trucks
Hazard recognition and prevention
Communication methods, including hand signals
Lockout/Tagout procedures
Safety considerations for pedestrians working near forklifts
This course is suitable for both forklift operators and personnel who work in environments where forklifts are in use. Operators will gain practical safety knowledge related to equipment handling, while non-operators will learn how to safely navigate workspaces where forklifts are present.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion verifying their training in forklift safety. This course does not provide an official operator certification or license but serves as a foundational training component required by many employers.
